Hello,
fellow SAABers! Tell me, did all the leaves fall off the trees on your
street this morning too? With the temperatures now dipping into the 20s,
it's time to think about planting bulbs, putting on good tires for the snow and
ice, and winterizing your SAAB for all the exciting winter driving
up ahead. Speaking of exciting driving, Last Saturday proved to be a
fantastic day to drive the twisty, paved roads of Pierce and Peppin
counties--just on the other side of the river in Wisconsin. "The Great
Escape to Wisconsin", as it was called, was simply breathtaking, and the leaves
were all beginning to change into their varied hues. Many different
countries were represented including Sweden, Britain, Italy, Japan, and
Germany. We all wound up at the "Pickle Factory" for some brews
and ciao where laughter and good stories were shared. If you
missed out on this event, there is still hope for you as the Mississippi
River SAAB Fall Tour will be on Saturday, October 11th in McGregor, Iowa,
and will prove to be an even more action packed day!
Last
month we had the pleasure of having our old buddy Ray Middleton and his friend
Ron Mahle share great stories and give us the latest on the Fairey Firefly and
the final stages of the restoration of the Seafire. No word for sure just
yet as to when we will have the opportunity to tour the hanger again, but you'll
be the first to know!
OK, who
went to the national convention this year? I know a few of you
did.... For this month's meeting we will have a recap of all the
highlights of this year's SAAB Owner's Convention in Hershey Pennsylvania from
Chuck Andrews and whomever else attended. There will be pictures of the
convention to share, and if you have some goodies to bring along to the meeting,
convention related or otherwise, you are encouraged to do
so!
Do you
have decent tires for the looming inclement weather?? For a limited time,
if you purchase a set of four new Nokian tires from Andrews of Princeton, you
will receive free mounting and balancing! Just think think of all the
things you can do with the sixty bucks you save! Visit the website at
www.andrewsofprinceton.com.
